Rechenberg bee mill
The municipality of Rechenberg-Bienenmühle with its two districts of Clausnitz and Holzhau is located at the very south-eastern end of the Erzgebirge/Vogtland Nature Park in the upper valley of the Freiberger Mulde, near the border with the Czech Republic. The history of the village goes back to the 12th century. Trade routes into Bohemia as far as Ossegg led past Rechenberg and made Rechenberg, with its marketplace and fortifications, a popular meeting place for traders. The rafting along the Mulde led to a further rise in the community in the following centuries.
Today, hospitality and traditions from the Ore Mountains can be experienced between half-timbered houses, remains of ruins and a small mountain church in the midst of the beautiful landscape of the Ore Mountains. The Rechenberger beer also contributed to the fame of the Eastern Ore Mountains.

Witnesses to the Rechenberg history
The remains of the former castle still tower imposingly out of the rock and over the market square with the Rechenberg town hall. The wooden castle erected in 1200 was rebuilt 50 years later as a stone building and only made it 336 years before it fell victim to a major fire in 1586. Although it was still used in the years that followed, it fell into disrepair. Already at the end of the 18th century it was decided to demolish the castle. However, the remains of the castle complex high up on the rocky spur can still be seen and a soil protection monument that has not been accessible since 1969.
The neo-Gothic church, the old raftsman's house and the Rechenberg brewery with the Saxon Brewery Museum are also in the immediate vicinity.
winter paradise
wooden chop
Every year we create a winter sports area out of a low mountain range, out of snow, out of ideas and with commitment. Guests experience nature in the Ore Mountains up close as cross-country skiers on 40 kilometers of groomed trails. Winter guests have a toboggan lift for tobogganing, snowboarders a fun park. Two drag lifts bring downhill skiers to different slopes (blue, red, black) and the latest downhill equipment, airboards and snowbikes can be found in the ski rental shops.
