Sayda
Mountain town and nationally recognized resort town
Zavidowe, ie the place of Zavid, has been documented since 1196 and was first mentioned in 1207 in the deed of foundation of the Cistercian monastery of Ossegg. Sayda is most likely the oldest settlement in the Upper Ore Mountains.
For centuries, the culture of Sayda was shaped by the changing economic conditions in trade, mining, crafts, forestry and homework. In addition to the typical Ore Mountain folk art and the Ore Mountain cuisine, many regional specialties have emerged.

Sayda - one of the oldest settlements in the Ore Mountains
Today, the small town is mainly characterized by small and medium-sized companies, as well as handicrafts, trade and commerce. As a small center, Sayda has an important function for the surrounding area in the areas of administration, health care, education and culture.
Tourism has become increasingly important over the past 100 years. The "small town on the heights", as Sayda also calls itself, is particularly ideal for those looking for rest and relaxation, but also for hikers and winter sports enthusiasts.
The "Hospital zu St. Johannis", the oldest building in the city, the church "To our dear women" with its 62 m high tower and the water tower invite those interested in history to discover them.
