The long mountain ridge, which runs from the Vogtland along the German-Czech border to the Eastern Ore Mountains, provides good conditions for cross-country skiing. When the snow conditions allow, there are up to 1,300 kilometers of cross-country trails in the Saxon and Bohemian Ore Mountains and Vogtland.
